| DENVER'S KIMN RADIO 950 AM |
| Every Babyboomer who grew up in Denver remembers KIMN radio, they kept them hits coming with fantastic news coverage and personalities that will forever be remembered! For more detailed information, go to the "Denvers' 95 Fabulous KIMN Tribute Site" at http://kimn95.tripod.com. My friend Joe Wicks did a fabulous job in collecting pictures and audio soundbites from the original KIMN. KIMN (named that way because it carried the "Inter Mountain Network") started out in 1954. In 1979, on the weekend of May 4th to the 6th, KIMN hosted a "25th Anniversary Homecoming". They flew in long lost DJs, and for three days, you heard the likes of Popo Poge, Jack Merker, Gary Owens, Lohman & Barkley, Jay Mack, Roy Gunderson, Ross Reagan, Don Martin and Chuck Buell. This whole affair ran for something like 30 hours during this weekend. I set up my reel to reel recorder, put it on slow speed, used 3600 feet 7 inch reels. recording on one quarter track, and recorded the whole tham ding straight through! I may have been the only person on the planet to do that! So what am I going to do with all of this? Well, share it with YOU, of course! I made a copy of the works for Joe Wicks, and he spent some intensive production time in "scoping" this down -- that is, taking out the lengthy music parts so that you can hear the DJs themselves tell stories about the "good old days". My thanks to Joe for doing that -- and now, ladies and gentlemen, let's line up our audio cart machines here and get on with some intensive KIMN memories, shall we?
